I just added Xtol clone to my toolbox, which was Rodinal and Caffenol so far.

Just curious, are there different ways, some 'off-label"(?), I could use Xtol that were not easy with Rodinal?

Mostly I'd say develop films so that many of them actually achieve box speed. That's something XTOL/MyTol will allow, but Rodinal not.

Also, you could run XTOL in a replenished regime, but I never tried it myself. Those who do, AFAIK use official XTOL and I don't know of MyTol will work replenished.

In many ways they are the opposite of each other.
One is one of the oldest developers still manufactured, while the other is Kodak’s last message to black and white enthusiasts.
One is a solvent developer, the other leaves whole crystals.
One is good for pushing, the other not so much.
They are both good for compensating development, but in different ways.
Both have very good keep-ability, but in different ways.
They overall complement each other wonderfully.

Just curious...what in the world could be "not easy with Rodinal" ?

It's not a great developer for someone who wants to push-process beyond 2X with some films. But 2X is easy and can be routine.

Is that the issue?
