I have been using Acufine as a one shot developer for Fuji Neopan 400 shot at 1600. This is more costly as I do not keep track of the number of rolls of film I use if you Acufine over and over again. I would like to use Acu-1 as a one shot developer in the above film/EI for better consistency but I can't find any starting times or dilutions at the Massive Development Chart or on Acu-1 spec sheet. Does anyone have a time/dilution for Neopan 400 @EI 1600?

Fuji Neopan 1600 In Acu-1

I think I saw this question on photo.net earlier today. Here's how I would get a starting point. Find a film developer with times for both the Neopan 1600 and Tri-X. Then look at the time for Tri-X in Acu-1. Let's say Tri-X is 10 minutes in D-76 and 5 minutes in Acu-1. If the Neopan is 12 minutes in D-76 then the time in Acu-1 should be about 6 minutes. Remember that even published times are only starting points. A diffusion enlarger will need a more contrasty negative than a condenser enlarger. Glossy paper will look more contrasty than matte paper etc. In non-US markets Neopan 1600 is called Super Presto. Fuji is phasing out bulk b&w film so I ordered a 100 foot roll from the Megaperls Webshop [www.unicircuits.com] in Japan. I've used Neopan 1600 before but when it gets here I will have more to experiment with.
