What would cause a clip of Acros film to separate from the base during a clip test? These are leftover clips from a roll of 120 film that I chopped up to fit into a film holder. The clips sat around in a sealed 35mm canister for several months and weren't subjected to any extreme conditions. When I drop the clip into my prepared developer (XTOL 1+1 in this case), almost immediately, it starts separating from the base. The developer is at room temperature. And the same developer processed my film just fine.

This isn't any kind of problem for me -- it's just something that strikes me as very odd and has me curious. Clips from other films I have (HP5+, Tri-X, etc.) don't do this.

Thanks.

If these are leftovers does that mean that the rest of that Acros film behaved properly? Other than a fault in that particular roll of Acros I cannot think of any reason for this behaviour given the conditions you describe.

A real mystery for me

Could you have trapped a bunch of humid air in with those film scraps?

Yes. Used to create this monsterpiece. (The film tore while removing it from the holder, hence the crack in his head.)
