Hi all,

I´ve got a nice rebate on some rolls of Acros 100 recently and the film has just arrived. I´d like to develop it in my standard developer Perceptol, but the dev times from both Ilford and Fuji are for stock solution only. Does anyone use this film with Perceptol and can give me a suggestion for 1+2 dilution? Suggestions for 1+1 or 1+3 would help as well!

kind regards,
Slix

Yes, do it.

I used this combination with 35mm Acros years ago until Perceptol became virtually unavailable in Canada (Ilford's restructuring era). I loved it. Especially with long scale exposures - I was doing a lot of dusk/night shooting then.

My notes indicate that Perceptol at 1+3 dilution (I used distilled water for mixing and dilution) developed at 24C for 15 minutes was good for me. Agitation was by inversion with an initial 30s followed by 5s, or 3 inversions every minute thereafter.

I stopped using Perceptol due to availability and price issues moving over to Pyrocat HD (glycol) for everything.

I haven't used Fuji Acros for a little while now, but I have used it at ISO 80 in Perceptol 1+3 and 1+2 and it's very, very good. My times for 1+3 were 18.5 minutes, with the same agitation sceme as Dave's above, but my temps were at 20C. It also scans beautiful too. Acros is a very good film and Perceptol is a great developer to go with it. John W

With Acros, Perceptol 1+2, 16 min at 75F. Agitate 10" (7 inversions) at 1 min intervals.

Many thanks so far! I also found the recommendation 16min 1+2 at 22°C and 16min 1+2 at 24°C in the massive dev. chart. I think I will use a time around 16min to start my own testing...
