Acros 8x10 would be nice?

Did you ever use Acros? I live in Europe, and it is my favourite for medium format, among others because of almost no reciprocity failure. This would be especially useful for 8x10 (my new old sinar) as times I use are often above 1-2 seconds. There's a lot of photos that I do not dare to shoot as they would require much longer times. Bottom point is: would it be possible to somehow persuade Fuji to import sheets to Europe? Would any of you be interested?

T-Max 100 also has very good reciprocity characteristics, if that's a key issue for you, as long as you're not doing an alternative process where the UV absorbing layer in the current TMX could be troublesome.

The unicircuit from Japan looks fine. But isn't there a risk, nowadays, of airmail being subject to Roentgen?

Wolfgang Moersch in Germany has it on their product list. I think by the time you buy it from Japan, pay for shipping, pay VAT and pay Customs handling charges, the prices are similar?

Actually you can get it from Jim at Midwest photo and also Unicircuits in Japan.

It only comes in 20 sheets boxes though.

Awesome stuff for sure.

I have been using it for a long time in 4x5 and recently in 8x10. Its quickly becoming my favorite film, though its a little bit costly. Dirk is a nice guy and good person to do business with.

Luckily I live in Japan, so I can get the film pretty easily.

I get it from Dirk quicker then some shipments from the States. $14 and it is here with in 10 days. No problem with x-Ray's

They shipped me some fp3000b and it was marked 'do not xray'... and I had no problems with it.

I agree, Dirk is very helpful. Very good store.

Why do you consider exposure times of 1-2 seconds a problem? I am assuming the new-old Sinar is on a solid tripod, you have a cable release, the subject is not moving and you are not shooting in a wind storm. You may not be taking shots that might make you very happy.

I have been obtaining some very nice results with 7x17 Ilford FP4+ using high number f stops in low light with some exposures taking 45-60 seconds. Many I have read about have used several hour long exposures at night when needed with good results.

It is a nice way to increase contrast with a low contrast scene...or in my case, increase the contrast for alternative photo processes.

Your results may differ....

We talked with Fuji (NL) and Fuji Japan. Sorry to say but no hope to re-introduce these Fuji sheet films in Europe.
The mentioned alternative: Dirk from Unicircuits. Monochrome (Kassel, Germany has also done a temporary action. (Which Wolfgang Moersch is also dealing with). Unfortunately again a higher pricing due to the new 19% German VAT which is valid up from today.

The Fuji Acros 100 is a very modern B&W film and very fine grain from it's Sigma technology and indeed alsmost NO reciprocity correction (>2 minutes!).
