So I just processed my first roll of 120 acros in pyrocat HD (10ml A 10ml B, 1000ml water) in my jobo at 24° C for 8:45, and the images are positive...

I have had wonderful success with acros 4x5 using this same dilution at 16min (the suggested starting time for 4x5 is 17min, while the starting time for 120 is 8:50... Why is that? So different?!)

The positives look to be decent density enough to scan but I'm SOL in the darkroom now.

Why did this happen?? I mixed the stock A and B probably a month ago.

If you figure out how it happened I'm sure there are folks here that would hail you the new King! Get working on duplicating those results and post your process.

A thin negative will appear positive when viewed by reflected light against a dark background. This is the idea behind the old ambrotype process.

Tha k you! I am going to have to double check the negs on a real light table-- only looked at them with a light bulb -- I bet the ambrotype theory is a good one !

@Xander Fischer, how is the pyrocat-hd stain with that film at that dilution (it's my main developer)? I bought 4 boxes of 4x5 Acros when I was in Japan a few days ago. Thanks.
