Acros 100 and hasselblad back

Does anyone else have a problem with negative spacing in a hasselblad back?Only with acros 100 do I get negatives that touch,or are extremely close together.I can use tri x without a problem.

The problem is not the film. The back needs a CLA especially the A, or only the A [usually it is this].

I'm not sure what you mean.I've never had a jam with this camera or back.It winds Any other kind of film but Acros 100,I wondered if Fuji film might be rolled tighter or something.

+1 on David Odess.
I don't use Fuji, but it's hard to imaging that it is that much different than any other film, it's more likely that the back needs some service. Frame spacing is an indicator that service is needed.

As a temporary measure, try rolling the arrow on the film slightly passed the arrow on the holder when you load.

Make sure you use a matching take up spool to the film you are using. It does not usually make a difference but there is some tolerance in the spec for the design of the spool and it has been known to cause problems in the past. Of course the film back could be faulty!

I had always thought that all 120 spools were the same in terms of diameter but it seems that a Fuji spool may be of a different size from an Ilford one which in turn may be different from a Kodak etc. If this is the case and it is of sufficient matter to make a difference to spacing then I wonder why there are not more problems. I'd have thought that many users switch films occasionally but use as their take-up spool the last one left in the camera which won't match so I'd have expected film makers to at least warn users to avoid using its spools with others' films but they don't as far as I am aware.

Can the difference in size be sufficiently large to make a real difference and why does it only affect a Hasselblad or is this only the OP's Hasselblad that it affects?

I have two 120 cameras. A P645N and an Agfa Isolette I. I have switched films on numerous occasions and used the previous and different make of film's spool without issue in both cameras

Switching from one spool to the next has never shown any decernable difference in the operation. Some slits are easier to use than others.

Yes it would seem to rule out the "different spools" cause. Mind you I'd have thought that the same reasoning would rule out Acros and its spool being the cause also.

I just cannot think of why Acros but no other film gives you the spacing problem. Had the H back going faulty coincided with the insertion of Acros then it might appear to be Acros only that is at fault but as I understand things you have been able to switch back to other films since the fault with Acros and the back has then behaved itself again:confused:

I have noticed issues with frame spacing when using Fuji films in multiple Koni-Omega backs and in a Kiev 6C. Other films in the same backs/camera don't have issues.

I don't know if this would make a difference or not, but the Kodak sprocket has 4 slots if I'm not mistaken, while Fuji has 2 slots. Although I primarily shot with Acros in my P67II, I have used both brands of film and the spacing is always the same.
