This is a nice little cabinet. I think your need would depend on whether your house had air conditioning and if you were located in a humid area. Most of us in the USA south (Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi, etc.), now have AC, so the interior is kept reasonably dry during the long muggy summer. Ironically, a New Englander without central AC might have a more damp house in summer than a southerner. Alternate: when I lived in Burma in the 1950s, my father kept a light bulb burning in the closet to keep the contents a bit dehumidified. We also left the gramophone on so that the tubes were warm all the time.

Being in Maine we don't have much need for AC! I love that about Maine actually. We had a few days in the mid-80s that I thought were too hot, but nights were low 70s. Majority of the Summer though we had comfortable temps in the 60s at night. Maybe I'll get one of these "some day". Personally I just don't want to outlay the cash at the moment.

Dry cabinets for storing photo gear are very popular in tropical countries like India, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Without them, lenses often develop fungus quickly.
