hello everyone

I'm considering buying a Packard shutter for my 8x10" Century #2 and my barrel lenses Industar M51 210mm and Apo Ronar 480mm. Is there tips to know about these shutters ?

I see on eBay a Packard shutter #8 with two piston and I don't find any information anywhere about this model. I found about #5 or 6, but no #8. The seller don't know too.

Do you know anything about it ? What is the second piston for ? Does it allow short exposure, as the #6 does (around 1/25s) or just long time exposure like the average #5 ?

Thanks for your advices.

A two piston Packard should offer time exposure thru one cylinder, and instantaneous exposure thru the other cylinder. You would switch your hose and bulb between the cylinders., or you could have two hose and bulbs.
