The MoPA in San Diego has an outstanding show of Aaron Siskind's photos. Abstracts from the 40's & 50's. A stunning show, lots of prints. And in the adjacent gallery, in a bit of contrast, Norman Seef;s musician and celebrity studio shots, blown up to enormous prints.
Also, later this month the San Diego Museum of Art, just down the street (?) will have an exhibition of the Garner collection, looks like another winner.
I don't often go to Balboa Park anymore, though I'm in San Diego a lot. This is a good excuse to go early next time I'm there and spend a couple extra hours at the museums.
