What would be a good A3 scanner, that costs not so much, and it is not very heavy? I am often doing 30x40 cm silver gelatin prints, so A3 scanner would be a ideal solution for me.
Why not photograph your prints using a copy stand. A piece of glass and the lights at 45degree angles to the base should keep the prints flat and avoid reflections. It will cost a lot less and would give you an automatic backup once you transfer it to your computer. Since it would be on an SD (or CF) card it would also be portable and could even be viewed on some TV's.
Thanks for replies .
I have tried to use home made copy stand, but somehow always I got some reflections.
I am ready to give up from lightweight option , I will check Scitex Eversmart - hopefully it has USB connection.
The Eversmart is going to have an older Firewire or SCSI connection. I don't have the Eversmart, but I have looked into buying one, and I run a few older drum scanners. You'll probably want an older computer to run the software. I find an old Windows XP desktop system ideal for SCSI connections to old scanners - just don't connect it to the internet.
Fixing the reflections with your copy stand is probably less work if you don't need the quality from the Eversmart.
