About two years ago by a lot of photo stuff I got a thing in house I never saw before nor got any idea what it was. It was a clear, U-shaped piece of plastic, seemingly a sort of clamp, and an attached U-shaped metal ring. As it was designed quite complicated with a lot of details, and as I hardly can through away things, I kept it. Actually it is the only item in my photographic collection I could not identify at all.
These days I bought me an electronic flashlight, with Magicube release socket to fit on a pocket camera. Made by Maxwell in Hongkong. A flashlight I never saw before. Only back home I realized that it got a seperate clamp to fix it to the camera, which was missing.
Glancing through the manual with its sketches to my utmost surprise I realized that missing clamp was exactly that thing I could not place two years before...
