Just discovered this place and I plan to explore it. A total analog camera geek that I am, collecting old cameras is my main passion. I also dabble in shooting all sorts of formats, from miniature (Minox) to 35mm, MF and LF (4x5).

As I said before, I plan to explore this Forum a lot.

Glad to be on board.

Hi Dimitri, I used to live in Phoenix, but now live in Hawaii. Glad to have you on board, you will find a number of other members from Arizona, which is still one of my favorite places.

Hi and welcome Dimitri.
We are having what passes for a warm day here in the UK, it has been almost 19 degrees celsius ( 65-70 Farenheit), that's why we officially have a drought in the South East (That is NOT a joke).
Hope you enjoy your time here

Hello, Dimitri! I lived in Williams for five years, now in Tennessee where it is definitely not a dry heat.....

In the South East of England there is less rain per capita per annum than in some parts of Sudan - Prezza's bright idea of building 18,000+ houses across the South East of England is a monumentally stupid one!

Yes, but Phoenix (actually Mesa I think) is the only place I know where a major roadway was built down the middle of a riverbed.

Wayne,

Not so far as I am aware. I talked with the folks at Photomark and there is apparently a large LF contingent in the valley. Reports of over twenty LF users.

Why would you wait until October? It is only going to be about 112 on Sunday.

Don, I went to second and third grade in Phoenix and remember the temps well. We didn't have a/c in those days and I use to sleep out on the back porch at night. The only thing different back then was, that there were alot more sandstorms and less people. Phoenix had about 300,000 people or so.

I do know that Ron runs a group out, and from what i recall, some if not many are newbies. The big push is buying the camera to join the group.

Those were the days... Now with well over 3 million inhabitants, less sandstorms and temperatures still up there.

I remember them quite well also. Where I live now, when it gets hot, I open the windows and when it gets cold, I close them.

Yes, I gathered that he runs an ongoing course at Scottsdale that has a large number of returning students...
