Hello fellow APUGers,

My name is Michael and my Nikon FE-2 is older than I am by a good margin

I have been into analog photography ever since I got my Nikon on the auction site with a 35-105mm lens for $82 back in July last year, the price I believe was good considering the condition of it - and I got a eveready case with it that the seller didn't advertise, with a sticker on it from the Barcelona Olympic Games! These small details is what I like about this great old gear - it adds a bit of character to it.

When I got the camera, however, I knew very little about the world of analog photography (knew enough to jump at that FE-2!), and through searching what seemed endless facets of it (there are so many!), I landed here at APUG. What I found, were pages after pages of info, advice, opinions and history, that are not found anywhere else. With the knowledge I acquired here, together with what I found in other smaller sites linked to here, I managed to develop my first roll of 35mm film, and am now waiting with excitement the arrival of my enlarger!

What this site(among others) taught me, is that 1. film is not dead and 2. film is love, film is life

I've been lurking around for a few months and decided only now to register, if nothing else to send a big THANK YOU for existing, wish more people would shoot film and discover what a wonderful world it is!

Michael (seriously hooked film newbie)

PS Sorry for my crazy english, I'm working on it

Welcome to Apug!

These small details is what I like about this great old gear - it adds a bit of character to it.

Then have a look at this:
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Some people love them, some hate them. Same for names and addresses in everready cases, or scratched/glued on the camera.

Welcome to APUG, Michael. Your English is fine.

Welcome to APUG...film lives!:D

Welcome to APUG

Your English is great.

AgX,

If my Nikon came with those, I would definitely keep them. But the previous owner had already removed them...

Welcome from Bangkok, Thailand Michael.

For a non-native speaker your written English is really good. Enjoy the FE2, I have one also and they are great cameras indeed.

Bem vindo, Michael.

There's only a handful of Brazilians here that I know of: RSalles, teleparallel and me. But rest assured: there's a lot of nice guys from all over the world.

Welcome to the club! Maybe, someday, we'll deserve our own Regional Focus Group at APUG!

Wellcome, enjoy your stay,
We're sort of neighbour as I live also in Rio Grande do Sul, came from Sao Paulo it makes 6 years, already.

Cheers,

Renato

Welcome to APUG Michael! I love my FE (never upgraded to the FE2) but unlike you, it is a few years younger than me.

Glad you are enjoying what APUG has to offer!

Your English is fine! And you're right, film is not dead. It also happens to be all I use (no digital). You'll love it!
