Hello fellow APUGers,
My name is Michael and my Nikon FE-2 is older than I am by a good margin
I have been into analog photography ever since I got my Nikon on the auction site with a 35-105mm lens for $82 back in July last year, the price I believe was good considering the condition of it - and I got a eveready case with it that the seller didn't advertise, with a sticker on it from the Barcelona Olympic Games! These small details is what I like about this great old gear - it adds a bit of character to it.
When I got the camera, however, I knew very little about the world of analog photography (knew enough to jump at that FE-2!), and through searching what seemed endless facets of it (there are so many!), I landed here at APUG. What I found, were pages after pages of info, advice, opinions and history, that are not found anywhere else. With the knowledge I acquired here, together with what I found in other smaller sites linked to here, I managed to develop my first roll of 35mm film, and am now waiting with excitement the arrival of my enlarger!
What this site(among others) taught me, is that 1. film is not dead and 2. film is love, film is life
I've been lurking around for a few months and decided only now to register, if nothing else to send a big THANK YOU for existing, wish more people would shoot film and discover what a wonderful world it is!
Michael (seriously hooked film newbie)
PS Sorry for my crazy english, I'm working on it
