I was shooting with my pinhole camera and some exposures required exposure longer than a minute. I was finally able to use https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/reciprocity-timer/id459691262?mt=8

It's a really an amazing app for calculating reciprocity failure with film. I shot some old 4x5 Fp4 and semi-stand processed it. I looked at the shadows to check on the exposure and it seems to be spot on. The best part that it's a free app. If you bought the paid version, you can store your favorite films. I wonder how the author got the information on the various films?

Interesting. I think a person I know at Pump Interactive may have been involved with the development of the program. He in the past was an avid LF photographer. Thanks for sharing. I'll look deeper here........

Thanks goodness for that! For most people, even some film shooters don't know what it's for. Tell us what you find out.

This, and pinhole assist, are my two most used apps when it comes to film photography.

OP -I sent an email last night but not sure I'll hear back as I've not spoken to the person for a couple years now. He an I worked together on the petition for Velvia 50 in 4x5 when it was being removed from world wide distribution. He was the person who started the original petition to try and keep the distribution open. He was in direct contact with the CEO at Fuji at that time. Obviously a lot of water has passed under the bridges since that date.

Thanks for this thread as I saw that app in the App Store, but the reviews confused me and made it look like the app had been abandoned.

Guess I will add to my bag.

i've had that app on my phone for years now. I find figuring reciprocity easy enough by just tacking on the calculation off the top of my head after checking a regular meter. For pinhole images, I just go by experience and feel these days. Not an approach for the anal ones, but it works fine for me.

Is this still the "go-to" app for film reciprocity for IOS? Thanks
tim
For me yes. I used it last week to shoot some Foma 200 ASA 8x10 and it works great. There's shadow detail on my negs where I want it. Also, it has a built in timer too. Foma has the worst reciprocity failure I've seen and Reciprocity is a valuable too for me.
