Our yellow father, who art in Rochester
Grateful we are for your roll and sheet film products
Your fourth-quarter statements and shareholders be monetarily satisfied.
Take not from us your slide and print films but restore unto us the Kodachrome and TXP of past
and deliver us from repetitive digital captures and unrealistic HDR images
continuing to give us our HC-110 and T-Max product lines.
For your film is our happiness and our purchases are your continuing future, for now and the next 120 years.
Amen.

Glory be to the camera, and to the emulsion, and the latent image. As it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, photographic tradition without end.

In Nomine Papierus, Filmio, et Spiritu Argentine,

Amen

I'm an Existentialist. Friedrich Nietzsche said God is dead. I believe that Kodak is slowly dying. But don't be so glum there is a freedom to this. We don't have to worship at the church of Kodak with its disciples at the photo store anymore. They're falling by the wayside like the American auto makers. Kodak didn't improve their products until foreign competition. Now it's too late....

I believe in Ilford and their silver halide imaging products,
Produced in Mobberley and distributed world wide.

I believe I will load my Mamiya with FP4+
Find a moderately sunny day and fire my shutter at an interesting scene.
I will develop the film in ID-11, with 2 agitation cycles per minute
And hang the film to dry after fixing and washing it.

I believe I will print the negative on matte FB paper and then place it in rapid selenium toner, for archival permanence.

I believe in the legacy of film, the potential in a latent image, the continuation of Harmen and the fact that my picture will not fade into inkjet oblivion.

And all the photographers say “Cheese”.

The Halidic Commandments.

Thou shalt have no other medium before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any electronic image, not any likeness of any thing that is heaven above or in the earth below in within the sea.
Thou shalt not take a photograph of anything in vain.
Remember the standard and the lens board and may it not be holey.
Honour thy Nikon and thy Canon.
Thou shalt not inadvertantly expose a sheet of film.
Thou shalt not fondle a D40.
Thou shalt not make a photograph without another's permission.
Thou shalt not bear witness that digital is useless. It can always serve as a bad example.
Thou shalt not cover thy neighbors Lowepro Computrekker AW, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's Canon, nor his nor his tripod, nor his shutter release cable, nor his lenses and flashes, nor anything that is thy neighbor's.

Ooh photographic Dogma! My ultimate question is when you take a picture in the forest and you don't hear a click, did you take a picture? To me, photographic Koans are more fun!

Glory be to the tin type, and to the sun and to the collodion,
As it was in the 1800s, is now, and ever shall be, wet plate without end.

Sorry but this is completely my sense of humor; if one of the moderators wants to move it to a more appropriate section, please do so (but posters, please keep up the good work )

And lo, did the Lord speak to Mr. Barnack and say unto him
"while thou was previously named Todd, from this day forth
you shall be known as Oskar and your fruits of your labors
will be the cause of lust of many, due to the high quality multi-coatings,
the excellent German craftsmanship and the ergonomics of thy designs.
And from your hands will many sleepless nights be imposed on people
trying to decide between an M6 body or an R4 with a lens,
from your mind will people try to justify late rent in order to purchase a quality lens
and from your boldness will pawnshops be enriched by those in search of higher mid-tone contrast"

And Todd, who was now known as Oskar, went home and slept many a night on his couch, for his wife was opposed to his selling of the family cheese business.

Thou shalt take many photographs with any camera, medium, and process.
Analogue followers shalt not disparage digital followers except in jest.
Digital followers shalt not disparage analogue followers except in jest.
Thou shalt jest often and without malicious contempt... veiled or not.
Thou shalt accept thy hybrid brothers & sisters for I built this world to change and grow.
Thou shalt allow Mike 1234 to post in "real time" for he has learned his lesson (he "thinks"). :D

Amen

I think he meant 1010011010, as the number of the beast in its true language.
