May I suggest a Forum (or sub-forum) dedicated to Paper Negatives?

The subject is not easily researched on APUG.
Searching for "paper negatives" yields far to many posts referring to film negatives.

I recently initiated a post on the subject, and it's catchig quite a bit of interest:
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Gandolfi referred to a thread on the LF forum which has lots of good information:
http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?72984-Paper-negatives

Paper negatives are Pure Analog, and APUG ought to be the first place one should look for information...

On the other hand, it's a pretty straightforward B&W topic, so maybe if there is one good paper negs thread, we could make it a sticky.

If you search for ""paper negative"" in quotes, you get a page of relevant threads. If you search for "paper negative" without quotes, then you get a lot of irrelevant threads.

I'm going to jump on board with this as well. I'd love to have a centralized place for this type of discussion. Search does bring up a bunch of stuff, but it would be nice to have a forum where everything lives.

Just my $.02.

there is a somewhat inactive paper negative "group" i started last year.
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

hi david:
would it be possible for the "groups" posts to be included in the main forum posts so people
realize they are there ? there are a lot of apug-groups but they are tucked away and new people
( and old ) don't know they are even there ...

If there was a really good sticky with links and such, i guess i would be happy with that but i still feel a forum for it would be awesome.

Please, please, please. I shoot paper negatives to 20x24 (tiled to 32x40) and would so welcome a little corner of apug for discussion and problem-solving. Thank you.

i think it would be great to have a forum dedicated to paper negatives, there are forums
dedicated to more mundane things, that is for sure !

Ok guys, this makes sense to me. It seems a popular subject, especially now with Ilford papers and their new pinhole camera system. I'll set that up tonight

I was going to give a thumbs up to Reinhold for the suggestion but Sean has it handled. It should be very interesting to have this as an option. Thanks Sean.

All set. If it doesn't gain traction we can always migrate it to a sticky in the paper forum.

Thanks for the suggestion,
Sean

To get the ball rolling, I've moved a bunch of threads from other forums into the new Paper Negs forum.

This is great -- I've always heard peripherally about paper negs, but never found a good resource to explain it all. This new forum should help.

It's really positive with a paper negative forum... Sorry, I couldn't help it!
