Two prominent lenses from my collection that aren't getting used enough. The lovely Volute shutters were engineering marvels 100 years ago! Every piece carefully machined. The only better pneumatic shutter being the elegant Compound that lasted 4 score more years than the Volute.
The Protar IV is 155mm and is crisp from corner to corner. The first excellent wide angle anastigmat, the series IV covered 90 degrees. This one is usable on 6.5X8.5 (full plate) but not 8X10.

The Plastigmat is a Dagor variation that uses 4 glasses, not 3. It was a Bausch & Lomb proprietary lens that they did not have to pay license fees on like the Protar VII. In use it is very like a Dagor with a little less coverage.
This 8X10 was the largest size and only cataloged one time. I've not seen another like it and I'll call it 'rare'. A bit of balsam seperation is normal for these. Image unaffected, this is a good performer and it covers 11X14. It's a 13" lens.
