I saw this little widget on Craigslist and was wondering exactly what it is, and if this is a good price for it. The seller calls it a "Morse Developer" and says that it's for 16mm and 35mm film. Would this be a home processor for cine film? If so, it might be a neat little thing to have kicking around!

The price seems a bit steep for what is essentially a formed piece of bakelite like material, however it is what is needed conveniently home process film in a daylight tank. I have seen plans for a slotted piece of plexigalss that film was wound around and then the whole works was immersed in a paper tray worth of film developer, but it would not be feasible for more than 50' at a time, and all of that had to happen in totla darkness.

The widget for sale - you load the film, pour the chems in, wind the film back and forth to get the chemistry against the emulsion.....

Yes, that's what it's for. No, I doubt he'll get than much. I bought 2 of those a few years back. One like the one in the ad, and a giant one for processing the 5 to 9 1/2" aerial roll film. I plan to sell them both later this summer when I clean out my garage. About half his price would make sense. That said I haven't paid any attention on ebay. Maybe they're the new cult item

I've seen things that look like the photo in the link on eBay. You might try searching there if you want such a device but think that $175 is too much to pay.
