I've recently signed on with Studio 391 Gallery on the Northern California Coast. The gallery is run by Paul Kozal, a very fine photographer in his own right, and his wife Carol. A nice gallery run by some very nice folks with impeccable taste.

Congrats Kerik!

Looks to be a fine gallery, also! There use to be a gallery in Gualala that was on the east side of Hwy 101. It was run by the ex-director of the Friends of Photography (I am having a problem remember his name!)

I might be in that area next month -- I'll stop on by to see the gallery!

Vaughn

Vaughn,

That was the Alinder Gallery run by Jim Alinder. Paul Kozal used to work there. The Alinder Gallery closed a few years ago.

Congrats Kerik! I love your wet plate stuff and I'm glad to see it getting the attention it deserves.

Congratulations, Kerik, your work will make a nice fit in Paul's gallery (it's been a bookmarked site for a long time now). Incidentally, I've enjoyed his photography as well as yours a great deal and often sift through the on-line galleries of both of your work for inspiration and pleasure.

Kerik, did you write the bio? It sounds like you are coating the aluminum yourself as opposed to just shooting on enameled aluminum:

"Kouklis adds a contemporary twist to this historic process by coating aluminum with black enamel to produce his alumitypes."

Not a bad selection of photography represented, however I'm sure in no time you'll lift the standard there Kerik.

Actually I've been watching and enjoying the work represented by Studio 391 for a quite while and this looks like an excellent move for both parties, from my online perspective.

Kerik, "shamelessly self promote" away
Well deserved and congratulations.

Congratulations! Your distinctive work stands out and is a nice complement to the other fine artists in the gallery. Best of luck.

All the best,
Daniel

ps: what you can see of kerik's work online is absolutely nothing compared to seeing it in person. i had the privilege of going through a massive stock of his images when i took a workshop with him and the time was very well spent.

not only is he a terrific teacher and photographer, he's also just a great person.

Thanks for all the kind comments. Jeremy - No, I didn't write the bio. In fact, I hadn't read it yet, so thanks for spotting that. I'll talk to Carol...

OK, while I'm at it... for those of you that read ViewCamera you may recognize the cover shot of the upcoming issue: http://www.viewcamera.com/ There are a couple more images of mine inside, but the article that includes my work was not exactly what I was expecting. Lots of good work in the issue, though.

Congrats Kerik, I wish you success. I've never met Paul but I know of his work from when he and I shared the same representation, really wonderful photography, you're in good company.
