Yesterday I learned something (in practice) that I have known (in theory).
If you have a high contrast scene, summer afternoon, sunny, people in light and dark clothes, sitting in the sun THEN stand developement in Rodinal 1:100 for 60 minutes will give you a LOT of contrast. I mean full scale from black to white.
This would have been excellent on some HP5+ I took earlier this spring that are too tame and greyish.
Next time I have a high contrast scene involving people I will use a more "normal" developement. Maybe Rodinal 1:50 for 10 minutes.

Learning, learning.

Congratulations. It is always great to prove a theory correct. Now If I could only prove my ‘What would I do with a million dollars?’ theory.

Butterflies end no world. Caterpillars call no master "butterfly". I don't know much, but there it is.

Your prints are sweet, the stuff in your gallery. Me self, armed with the understanding that I cannot achieve perfection, I seek happy accidents.

And so far as a direct sun scene, white and black clothes. Forget it, man. No film or developer is going to change it. (An umbrella will, though!)

Learning is fun. It makes you appreciate the process. I have gone through many learning events and still am after 40 years. As for the million dollars I can only dream.
