Maybe Ron can answer this one. I have an Kodak 8x10 camera and finally got it out to look it over, it appears to have a leather bellows which is soft and does not have any leaks. The camera tag on top says: CAMERA, GROUND -TYPE C-1.

The TYPE C-1 is in larger letters than the rest, it has a drawing number, serial number, specification number, and order number, and Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, N.Y., U.S.A..

The serial number is 42-2802

The other tag on the front says Eastman View Camera, No. 2-D manufactured for Eastman Kodak Company by Folmer Graflex Corporation, Rochester N.Y. U.S.A.

I have had it for quit some time and got it out to see what it needed, actually it's in very good condition. I don't have the extension rail like I do for my 5x7 2D and my two Seneca cameras though. I don't need anymore projects but the bellows extends to 30" so I might have to determine the wood. Looks like a dark mahogany or even a dark cherry. All of the hardware is there, the knobs and brackets are perfect and aged.

The camera tag on top says: CAMERA, GROUND -TYPE C-1. <etc>

Sounds like a military model, ordered during WWII. Can't add much more than that.
