I'm a recent arrival to shooting with Nikon equipment (just bought a used F3 and an AI 24mm f2.8 lens).

I looked through Keh's catalog, but it's not clear to me what lens hoods fit what lenses. I just received one from them for the 24mm, but it was for digital and was HUGE.

They also come in "HB", "Screw on", "Slip on", to name just a few of the different configurations.

So, I wondered if anyone here could point me to a good chart, somewhere, that shows the matchup of lens hood to lens, for Nikon.

I know my question's a tad over-specific -- sorry. But, THANKS -- if you can help!

There are some books on the Nikon system that can be useful if you plan on using and acquiring more Nikon film gear. "The Nikon Handbook" by Peter Braczko published by Fountain Press is the best, but some of the others are good too. HN-1 is the metal screw in hood I use with my Ai 24mm 2.8.

This might also help;
HB plastic or metal lens hood with bayonet mount
HE lens hoods for Nikkors with longer focal lengths
HK metal slip-on hoods with knurled locking screw
HN metal screw-mount hoods
HR rubber screw-mount hoods
HS metal snap-on hoods

I purchased my Nikon F3HP new in 1983, and I've owned the Nikkor 24mm f/2.8 AI-S lens. Here's a vintage 1984 Nikon brochure on eBay that will give you a handy guide to the Nikon F3 system - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Nik...221?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27ec35b0ed

I have two copies of this brochure, it's really a nice and compact reference source for the Nikon F3 camera(s). There are sections in the brochure that illustrate virtually all of the Nikon F3 system and accessories as well as tables that have information about the various manual focus lens and the appropriate lens hood, teleconverters, etc.
