A dependale source for cameras in Buenos Aires..

A friend of mine will be in Buenos Aires before the end of the year and is interested in possible sources for Leicas (film). Can anyone recommend any reliable dealers, from experience?

I have been given to understand that the Odessa Society has a number of Luftwaffen Leicas on hand but others say this is not the case.

I got close on my last visit to BA, but learned they had just been moved by submarine to Asuncion.

I was in BA last year and stumbled upon a shop on a corner of a street where the open air flee market is on weekends. It is a "proper" antique shop but seems to specialise in photo gear and they have a whole bunch of Leicas back then. I am sorry to be so vague about the address and such but it was a gold mine of old gear that I spent an hour or so drooling over. My vague memory is that it was in the San Telmo district between Calle Humberto & Calle Carlos Calvo at the corner of Defensa (runs perpendicular north from Cine Museum and Museum of Modern Art). I remember getting a business card from them so I will try to dig it out and PM you if I find it.............wish your friend good luck.

I found a shop called Foto Dino when I was there last year. The shop has been there a long time, very reputable. They had an interesting selection of used cameras, but nothing too exciting. Dead Link Removed
