A day shooting in Dun na Ri Forest Park

Myself and a few apuggers were talking about a day out shooting over the Christmas break so Dun na Ri forest near Kingscourt County Cavan has been chosen. This is a beautiful area with lots to photograph. Friday 28th or Saturday 29th have been suggested, so would anyone like to join us?

I can do either day.

Friday good for me.. 10am start is good.

I will put myself down as provisional, if I go I might make an earlier start than 10:00, keep an eye on weather might look good with early morning mist, anywhere for our usual cup of tea.

@monosnaps there is a couple of places in kingscourt and Cabra castle hotel is opposite the park entrance, the grounds of the castle are pretty nice also

Forecast ain't brilliant for tomorrow, but the rain is to stay off til the afternoon. I've never been to Dun na Ri before so it will be interesting.....

Might get away with it that is the weather, said we will have some bright spells so we just have to be ready for them. Hope to be there for 9:00am, I think there might be a charge for parking so bring some change, see you there.

They normally open the gates a bit before 9 and then a bit later 10/10.30 if they are maning the shed it will be €5 but it is a while since I was there so it may have changed.

Long time since I have seen anyone taking parking fee but be prepared as Eddie said just in case.

There was an old railway station in Kingscourt not sure if its still there might be an option to check out if time and weather allows. Most recent photos are 2011 so not sure on current status.
