My last OM1 died this morning, The mirror will not return . I have had very good experiences with KEH both in equipment and repair. Problem to repair which would run in the neighborhood of $150 and wait for a month or get a OM1 chrome listed as excellent for $135.and have it in a week. I still have 2 OM-10s in working condition. If KEH overhauls the OM1 I will have in essence a new OM1 camera that in all likely hood will outlive me Im 82 .decisions, decisions
Repair it. As mentioned good karma. But a repaired and CLA'd one is much better than an old camera that has been "looked over" and still works even if it's "excellent". Use your OM-10s meanwhile.

With respect, karma isn't in play here. Practicality is, though. An OM1 isn't exactly new. There's also the merc battery issue with these. Some older SLRs can be refurbed; others can't. It really depends on getting a clear idea of what KEH actually does for $150--not all CLA/repairs are the same. With 35mm manual SLR prices at rock bottom for many brands, you might shop around for a newer Oly that suits you.
