I'm a huge fan of Lee Friedlander's and recently bought one of his latest books, "The People's Pictures". I couldn't help but think this would be a book that Photrio members would love as the entire first half of the book contains pictures of people taking pictures! You'll see all manner of rangefinders, SLRs (I spotted some Nikon F/F2s in there), Polaroids, etc. in use by people on the street. Should make for hours of fun trying to guess which cameras are being used

The second half of the book is dedicated to pictures that contain other pictures - people holding pictures, pictures on buildings or in windows, etc. I own something like 25 Friedlander books and I've only seen a handful of the pictures in this book elsewhere.

It's not cheap at about $60, but it's a sizable book and nicely printed and packaged by Eakins Press.

I try to resist acquisition of any more books, but temptation just too powerful. Have long ago run out of shelf space. Now running out of floor space. However, have not yet reached level of the Collier brothers!

Don't despair, spouse has 400+ cookbooks, and more come every week, yet we are surviving.
Why give up?

BTW the antique shop near me has a Carson Graves used book, about B&W Printing. I wonder if I should inquire about the price.

Thank you for spelling correction. That’s one reason I do toss my newspapers.

You definitely have more than i do, but i am in a similar, if smaller boat.
Especially with the older books that are out of print........i feel like i am "saving" them.
They are frequently in the (usa) 5 to 20 dollar range, so the price is not a big concern.
I need to get rid of some of them.
Make way for some new ones
