This is a rather belated hello to the APUG community in general and to the members I got to meet at the APUG conference in particular.

The conference was great fun and a real 'hats off' is due to Sean, Mr C, Bob, Eric and all the others (sorry for ommissions here! You are all new to me!) who got it all running. Those of you who did not come missed a good time.

I know this is a bit late, but although I really do admire what APUG is about and is achieving, I have never been much of a one for forums. Once in a while I take a look to see what is going on, but I do find the amount of time that seems to be required rather daunting! My life seems to be a constant race against the clock as it is and too much of it already seems to be in front of a monitor (how on earth did that happen?!).

After the conference I did register, full of good intentions to say hello to my new friends here, but everytime I log on the site seems even bigger - and I wonder how on earth you are able to keep up with it all. Making snap decisions has never been my strong point - unless it is deciding to postpone making the decision of course, I'm quite good at that one - so hence the time lag.

Anyway, I enjoyed meeting you all and hope that maybe it wil happen again.
Cheers all,
Tim

Welcome Tim! I'm sure there's going to be more than a few folks with questions to ask, but maybe we can eventually reciprocate with something for you to chew on. Hope to meet you myself someday, if you ever make it out around the Atlanta area.

It's simple: We don't. Being a moderator my "ignore list" is empty, but there are large parts of the forum I never read unless someone complains about a thread or entry.

Without APUG I would have a lot less knowledge, but a lot more pictures!

Hi Tim,

At the bottom of the main English Forums page there's the "Forum Visibility Edit Mode" button...just click on that, then you can make some of the forums you're not interested in disappear. I've got 19 forums deleted which makes it less imposing, and I can catch up on the days goings on in about 15 minutes - unless I start posting!

Although we didn't meet at the conference (I wasn't able to attend), it's nice to see you here, Tim. Welcome.

Welcome Tim. I didn't get to the APUG conference but did meet you briefly at the Silver Conference in Pasadena. (I gave Dennis an APUG tee shirt).

Maybe you could tune in on rainy days..or when the clock batteries go dead...

Regards,

Matt

Hi Tim

If you speed up your processing times, use more than one enlarger , don't tone for 17 minutes, when you print you will find more time to visit this forum.

It was wonderful having you here in Toronto and if we do it again, you will be the first call I make, OK maybe second because Les will be pissed.

Welcome to APUG

Right. Next time I come I am going to switch some Traviata into your sound system. That should slow you down a bit!;-)
maybe I'll have to put rubylith over my laptop and learn to type with one hand, then I can do some apuging and rock the dish for 15 minutes at the same time

Tim, welcome to APUG. I enjoyed your workshops immensely, they were the highlight of the conference for me. I hope to catch a full workshop from you in the future.

Welcome aboard Tim and hopefully you can squeeze in a bit of time. I know there are many of us that will benefit from any contributions you are able to make.

Yup, a rubylith window in a cardboard frame that slips over the laptop screen: it's what I do. I also use the laptop for process timing and calculating f-stop timings, holding PDFs of Ilford datasheets etc...

Cheers, Bob.

Hi Tim, welcome aboard. It was good meeting you at the conference, having breakfast with you at the hotel and having a beer at the Fox and Fiddle. I hope to see you again next year.

Tim, one of these years I hope to catch a workshop with you. In the meantime, I keep using your Lith & Toning books; and look forward to your new book this Fall.

Me too! It's nearly there. Being doing final proofs all day. Will start updating the website soon as poss (with help of my son!), as sadly out of date now - including an 11th hour title change - groan. More later perhaps. I'm shortly away for a month with no computer access.

Thanks one and all. I feel like and old hand already
Tim

Welcome to APUG, Tim! :D

I was so pleased to finally meet you at the conference! I have to say that I was just a wee bit speechless when I discovered the 'lost soul' I directed to the registration area was THE Tim Rudman! haha I hope you had a grand time and will come to the next conference so I can take you lith course.

I must say that I was sorely tempted to run & fetch my hat & mittens from my car (when you live in Wisconsin, you travel prepared  ) on Saturday when you appeared to be freezing to death! Hope you are comfy & warm at home!

Welcome! :D

Welcome Tim
I'm glad I have met you at the conference unfortunately time restrictions prohibited me to attend your lith printing course. We'll see you next time and I'll take it then for sure.

Cheers Greg

I am also very happy to see you here, Tim. I am looking forward to the new book, and even better, to taking your lith workshop course at the next APUG conference.
