Anybody have any suggestions for finding this film format or possible respelling of film to fit a camera that shots A-116?

116 is the same size as 616 film. The A version most likely refers to the Autographic cameras, where one used a stylus to make notes with each shot.
The only difference between 116 and 616 is the spool.
Neither have been made for some time.
If you do a Google search for 116 to 120 film adapter, you will find a number of solutions for permitting 120 film use in the camera - including an APUG thread or two.
The film itself is the same width as 70mm film. It is the spools and backing paper that are hard to acquire.

There was a guy/company called "Film for Classics" that was spooling film for 116, but it looks like he has now stopped. Best bet is to either try making your own out of 70mm film stock and backing paper or just convert to 120.
