9X12cm B&W film

I'm USA based and was wondering where I can buy Ilford Delta 100 in 9X12cm? I can get and do use Foma 100, but would like to get my hands on some 9X12cm Delta 100 or other 9X12cm film for that matter. I use several old, amazing 9X12cm plate cameras and really enjoy using them except for the limited film availability. Where do you folks in the good old U.S. of A buy your 9X12cm film?

Ilford do an annual order for "interesting" size sheet film. you seem to be in the states, you might like to talk to Freestyle and ask if they can get it for you the next time the (ULF) Large format ordering oportunity comes arround. (I sugest Freestyle as they are analogue specalists and are likly to know what this is all about.)

If you can find it in US sheet film sizes, you can probably cut it down in the dark. I think Adox still cuts 9x12cm (but that's not exactly what you were looking for). Another option might be looking into a 120 rollfilm back, if you need a specific stock and don't want to wait for the Ilford special film drop.

5x7 film is so close to being able to be cut in half to make 2 9x12 sheets, I'd consider finding a way to make that work. That way, you get 50 sheets when you buy 25, with next to no waste (maybe a 1/4" strip).

Ilford already make 9x12 sheet film as part of their regular production. Delta 100, FP4+ and HP5+. I have bought FP4+ from Fotoimpex in Germany.

You just need to ask your dealer to order it.

Thanks guys! Yes, I did know that Ilford included 9X12 in their regular run, but wanted to know if any U.S. dealer stocked it. I do buy from Freestyle and B&H so I guess I'll contact them. It still puzzles me that more folks don't buy and use 9X12cm plate cameras for film use. 9X12 is close to 4X5 and the cameras themselves is relatively small for the negative size. I have a Patent Etui that fits in the palm of your hand.

9x12cm cameras also look really cool. I think one reason they're not used more is that they're not as standard as 4x5 is. I love taking mine out and shooting 120 out of them. There's also one with a kalart rangefinder that I really want but need to wait because I already spent my camera money haha.

When I wanted to use mine, I couldn't find film holders. I used an old film pack holder, stuffed with layers of cardboard.

There are 4x5 back adapters that can be 3D printed to allow you to use that size sheet film, but you do waste a bit per shot.

I could not get 9x12 Ilford film as recently as last year (I asked Freestyle). I ended up buying Foma in 9x12.

I have actually built and used this, the design kind of sucks and is awkward to use. It is an option but it's not a good one imo. It could be the rubberbands I used tbh but at the same time it was just difficult to take out and shoot with. It would be a lot easier to invest in the original cassettes.

I have both, but I had the adapter built while I spent months tracking down plate holders with the proper film sheaths. Never hurts to have a back-up...

I have five 9X12 plate cameras and only one French S.O.M is short on holders. I have three for it, but haven't found more. I'll search tonight and see if I can find the company that makes new 9X12 sheaths. The sheaths were hard for me to find. I'm using Foma 9X12 right now.

That doesn't sound so good. I bet Freestyle would jump if you ordered a large order, but doesn't want to mess with just a few boxes. I had my fingers crossed that Freestyle would help out. I might try my local camera store (Norman's in Grand Rapids) since they handle Ilford products. Isn't Roberts Camera in Indy the main U.S. distributor of Ilford film? I buy from them often so might just try there. I like Foma 100 OK, but I really like Delta 100 and HP5+ much better.
