Here's an antique meniscus doublet mounted in an Ilex Shutter.
The brass part around the meniscus lens holds no clues what-so-ever as to who made it. There were thousands of these produced 115 - 140 years ago. A 9" focus like this one was intended for a half plate camera.
I've been out having fun with it on the 6.5X8.5 format. I'll have some pictures to post that were made with it tomorrow. Just got them developed tonight. Excellent results from this lens and it's a lot of fun to use.
The machine work to mount this in the Ilex would cost you perhaps $80 less than what I'm going to ask for the complete lens! The aperture is correct for the lens.
I don't have a flange for the Ilex. Jim at MPEX has them I believe. Or if someone has 2 or 3 to sell me I could use them. I'll want
