This is an endearing old lens. It's long life and usefulness is written all over it.
The 9 1/2" Wolly Velo covers 8X10, especially moved in a bit closer to the subject, which is the kind of photography this lens begs for.
The MOST FAMOUS photographer I know uses one of these!! That's right!!! Mark Sawyer photographs Tink with one of these very lenses!!!! (price just went up 200 bucks)
This one has just had the Studio Shutter serviced and is quite useable. A word about Studio Shutters; They are a simple shutter that uses the shutter blades to form the aperture. They only work as fast as you can push a cable release. About 1/8th second. Then 1/4, 1/2, 1 etc. are all by "ear". The blades on these as they age and get used, no longer form any kind of a perfect circle. Sort of a jaggedy circle. Watch my lips. "It doesn't matter". Glass on this is very nice. No problems.
