Good one Drew, but probably and sadly true.As soon as you decide to try it, the price of tape will skyrocket !
Assuming the film was in good condition, giving away boxes of 11x14 Portra is just laziness. They would bring real money on the open market. Relative to a tony estate sale, the film isn't a big item.mshchem - read the fine print. $315 per 10-sheet box, yes; but the minimum order is 40 boxes, so that translates into nearly $14,000 up front.
There was an estate sale near here this year where they were trying to give away a whole stack of boxes 11X14 Portra

Ok, got it. Too bad. It is hard to see nice film go to waste.Hi Wyofilm - It wasn't just 11X14 Portra. There were dozens of 50-sheet boxes of 8x10 color film too, and a number of boxes of custom order 12X20 Portra, real expensive stuff. Although those weren't opened, they'd sat around unrefrigerated for so long that they were probably gone bad. The photographer in the family had apparently either passed away or become incapacitated years earlier. All the Portra was two generations back from what is available now. But even then it would have amounted to an awfully expensive film addiction.
