8x10 film processing in a uniroller tank

I will be making some 8x10 negs in the very near future and am wanting to know if I can develop one sheet of film in the same tank that I develop 4 4x5 sheets of film in?? The reason I ask is that the Uniroller tanks I have have a V channel in the middle that allows you to put either one 5x7 sheet of film in, or 2 4x5's into it with the little doohickey that keeps them seperated, and the same for the other side of the V channel.

With an 8x10 sheet, the film will bow out by the V channel, and I am wondering whether other people have had problems using these tanks for 8x10 sheet film or do they go to larger tanks? Will the V channel scratch the back of the film?

I use a Uniroller drum and base for 8X10 (as well as 7X17) negatives; and they work fine. The V has not caused any scratching that I'm aware of, and the 8X10 fits snugly between the two angled dividers.

If you aren't using a pyro developer you may be OK. Sometimes odd bumps will lead to uneven staining with pyro - hardly noticeable until you print.

Uniroller has always worked fine for me- Rodinal, HC110 and D76 - never tried it with a staining developer. I have a larger Beseler drum that does 2 8x10, but I usually have the smaller one all set up and I just go with that.

Uniroller works for me too! The 8x10 drum will hold one 8x10 neg, the 11x14 drum will fit two 8x10 negs.
