I have couple of print drums that can be used for processing sheet film too, but the film's back will be in contact with the drum.

It is not a problem with a B&W films as the antihalation can be washed out later, but how with the E-6 and C-41 processes?

Is it essential that chemicals reaches the film from the base side too?

I'm using Jobo 4531 drums for 8x10 film, with selfmade separators to prevent sheets from moving around and it appears that 8x10 fits loosely enough. No problems with AH. And yes, chemicals should reach the back side.

I've processed a fair amount of Ektachrome in Jobo print drums. It seems to work fine, but some people have had blotches develop.
