I did a similar exercise recently, and eventually bought one of the last Titan 8x10 directly from Mike. It is very well made and super light, and I got really good images out of it. But sometimes I do miss a basic shutter, especially at 2s range on a sunny day.
Alternatives:
- "COSMOS CIRCLE Pinhole Camera 8x10 Large Format Camera" on eBay. I have the 4x5 version and really like it. It used standard lens boards (Linhof or Sinar), so you can produce your own rise/fall and attach any shutter you want. I made a simple sliding shutter and it works well. You can potentially use normal lenses on this camera too, since it is supplied with ground glass.
- VIST Kamera from Lithuania: he used to sell 4x5 pinholes and 8x10 normal cameras, and produce combination pinhole lens and shutters. He might be able to custom build a 8x10 pinhole camera for you at very reasonable costs.
