8 x 20 ULF camera complete outfit. I designed and built this camera 15 years ago when I was doing Platinum photos. The camera was designed after my 8x10 Kodak 2D and takes standard 6 x 6 lens boards for that camera. It’s got its own set of quirks, but it gives you the flexibility of shooting both vertical and horizontal formats (back rotates).
Camera – Has taken a few battle scratches but still in pretty good condition. The camera is made out of Makori wood. Bellows extension is about 36”. I’ve added a few fitting pieces to help make it more stable. I have one lens board for it.
Camera bag – comes with really nice big hi-quality canvas bag made by Fishpond (bag is for fishing gear).
Film Holders – comes with three Chamonix film holders in like new condition with padded cases.
Film – comes with three boxes of film. Efke 25 nearly full box expired 2011, but stored indoors in climate controlled condition. Ilford HP5 Plus 400 nearly full box expired 2012, but stored indoors in climate controlled condition. Full unopened box of Ilford HP5 Plus 400 expired 2012 but has been stored in the freezer since the day I got it. I’ll also throw in 6 developing trays for the darkroom and I think I may have some negative sleeves as well.
Tripod – Dietzgen plane table tripod (big and sturdy) probably from the 70’s that I’ve mounted a Majestic head on it. Tripod was originally used by the US Corp of Engineers and is in pretty good very workable condition. I also have a modern case for storage.
Lens – I really don’t want to sell my Schneider 355 G Claron so it’s not included in this package. This is a great lens for this format – lots of coverage and nice and sharp. However, I still use this lens for my 8 x 10 work. But if you have something modern of like value made for 8 x 10, I might consider an offer for a trade.
Here is a chance to get the complete outfit ready to go. I really don’t want to deal with shipping (lots of stuff and would take multiple boxes) so if you are in or planning to travel to Southern California/Arizona and can come to Palm Springs to pick it up that would be perfect. Price is $4400 for the whole package. Price does not include the G Claron lens.
