Some really lovely work by Andrea Modica published with this story about a terror hostage in the New York Times magazine.

The story doesn't say it is 8 by 10 platinum, but all her other stuff is on her web site. Really lovely images for a really hard story:

Thanks for posting. I saw those when the article appeared and meant to post here, but didn't get to it, and then forgot.

I think it's really great that the NYT is posting this kind of thoughtful work for a story like this one.

A powerful and nuanced account, told without hatred or bitterness.

I note that the photograph of the pages of the novel has very shallow DOF, with the plane of sharpest focus running diagonally across the image. This certainly supports the suggestion that it was shot on an 8x10 view camera.
