Several years ago I made an eight-by-ten inch format tailboard-style nested box camera, using an improvised lens, and this last week finally got around to making a video about its operation. I hope you all find it informative.

Nice one Joe. Very impressed and thinking an evening class in camera making would be a good course for me to attend if only such a thing existed! Well, doubt it in the UK.

That 'instantaneous' shutter is impressive. The whole thing looks like what a Brownie would want to be when it grew up... Puts my efforts to shame.

This entire camera project is seriously cool. An excellent result and superb job. Being a large format guy I was especially fascinated by your ingenuity with the mechanical shutter--I could watch that thing work all day. Amazing!
