Hey guys,
I just thought I would mention this because I was surprised how much I liked it.
I was given the new 35mm f2.8 to review for my youtube channel.
Now I don't need a new 35mm lens as I have the Zeiss ZM f2 and the f1.4, however I agreed to try the lens, so I did.
I ran a bunch of tests, not lab tests, but in the field.
It seemed pretty good... and it's very small, similar to my Leica 28mm f5.6.
Anyway after some encouraging test shots I included the lens for a two week trip around Alberta in April.
I was mostly shooting 120 film but did run five rolls of Kentmere 200 through the rangefinder.
You know what, I thought the lens was pretty good.
I didn't compare it to my Zeiss glass head to head because I'm tired of these endless comparisons but I did find the lens worked very well for taking photos.
I'm not saying it's as good as a Leica lens, could be better than an old Leica lens, don't know, don't care.
But for the price, I thought it was a pretty nice lens.
Anyway, not trying to start anything about lenses made in China for German cameras... just saying I thought it was pretty nice.
