75mm lens and 6x12

I'm considering a 75mm/6.8 Grandagon N to shoot 6x12 (rural landscape with decaying buildings) on my Sinar C.
I've not used rollfilm on my monorail before.
Do I need a recessed board for this lens?
Given I'm not planning to shoot chromes, do I need a centre filter for 6x12?
Help appreciated as always

You won't need a centre filter for 6x12, I use a 75mm f8 Super Angulon for 6x17 without one for B&W although it would sometimes be better to use one but it would limit me as I normally shoot hand-held.

You may well need a recessed lens board on a monorail.

You should be able to use the lens on a flat board if you put the tripod mounting block at one end of the rail. This will allow the standards to come closer to each other than they can with the tripod mounting block between them.

Center filter? On 6x12 with reversal color film, perhaps. You'd best try shooting without and then decide whether you can live with corners around a stop and a half darker than the center.

I'm sure you know this but it bears repeating. Buy used, pay attention to eBay, and be patient.

Finding an affordable ($225 delivered and delighted to have it for that) CF for my 35 Apo-Grandagon took more than a year. When I went up to 6x12 one shot with my 47 Super Angulon convinced me that it needed a CF to be usable on 6x12. After nearly a year of looking I got one for $200 and was happy to have it for that.
