How much did you pay for it?
Each 100' roll of 70mm film has somewhere around 10-16 grams of silver in it. By the time you get done paying for shipping and the processor takes their cut, you will probably do a little better than the cost to ship, but done expect to retire on the proceeds.
I recently took possession of about 100-150 rolls of Kodak 70mm x 100'. Some of it is BW and some of it color. About 100 of them are unopened and 100% new. They were stored in a climate controlled photo studio but did expire around 2006-2007.
1) Does this film have any value to anyone that currently shoots film? I see some rolls on Ebay around $250, but a lot of that was supposedly stored in a freezer. I do believe that the film I have was always stored in a nice cool climate controlled warehouse, but obviously I cannot guarantee it being in any sort of quality.
2) If it does not hold a value to a photographer, what do people know about recycling this stuff for its silver value? Is there a "best" place to send it? What could I potentially expect to get for this?
C-41 Process Film
There are few of us here on Photrio using 70mm film. Please make us offer we can not refuse?
Useless! Send it to me and I'll dispose of it...
As a shooter of 116-616 (and one who can develop it as well), I'd certainly love some BW and Color 70mm film to have on stock for spooling!

I've listed some of the B&W for sale.

Simple bump quote for those that expressed the slightest interest.
Aha - well I see your reference is an ebay seller who want to have $250,- to 100ft 70mm film.
Now your idea is - you should have the half of it ?
I have no intention to look at Kodaks pricing to new 70mm color now.
But it may be you come in the near of new color films (100ft as a normal short end is often offered) with $250,-/100ft.
That means you may ask Kodak if they are able to offer you 1000ft 70mm color
for USD 2500,- ? Kodak will make you a special price - believe me - so you will pay a little less....
Therefore a expired film price from ebay with $250,-/roll is no reference at all.
But it is on you - bon chance
PS : No serious source!
I edited my pricing both here and Ebay. It does look like some of these rolls sell for $200+ on Ebay. Anyways, I dropped my pricing to $99.99 on Ebay and $60 here at PHOTRIO. I think that's pretty fair. Of course I'll discount that some if someone wants multiples.
If I had $60 to spare for something like this at the moment, I might just do it.

I've eyed them online to play with, but agreed about the shipping, too much. Would love one though.
Thank you for the offer LInux!
Sorry, I have to pass on this one. C-41 process and unperforated does not work for me right now. Do you have any rolls of traditional BW film in your stash?
Goran
I don't understand why they would sell B&W C-41 process film in 70mm format.
At this point I don't really know. Up until yesterday, I thought what I had WAS traditional black and white until someone on the phone told me that what I have is BW film that uses C41 color processing techniques for developing. So, I'll just post up what I have and let other people tell me what it is.
Oh...Oh...oh - bad news !
Sorry to say - it is realy sad - but I made a mistake. I have had only a short look on your mentioned site (ebay).
I only noticed first bw ISO 400 from Kodak. My speculated double x film was not on the scene....but I realy dit not
realized first : IT IS PORTRA C41.
Then you might know it is a different issue from expiration (10years).
I mentioned it above.
But never mind - color casts are not the
problem because it has his characteristic as bw film.
But this isn't the realy same as it should be normal bw film.
So expiration date and storage is AN ISSUE at last.
The missing perforation might be a no go to Hasselblatt users with 70mm magazine and some others.
But the main issue is - this film you want to sell is a c41 film....!
Thats very special because it give you NOT a real advantage in darkrooms.
What you now need is a time machine :
Back to the 80th - this was a period manufacturers and labs had an idea of making bw workflow more easy.
But this idea wasn't a real great coup.
So you have a film now - from the demand (also from Apug experts) it should go to zero.....
There is a way from cutting to use it as120/220 film.
But I guess it might be impossible to sell
150 rolls of it.
Bad news - no big business - to any pricing......
But have a look if there are other films from your studio.
With panatomic x in big amounds with such a original box :
View attachment 193629
Or if you can find such a box :View attachment 193630
in highest quantity with original unopened packaging you will nevertheless become rich within hours.
But so - I am even not sure if Portra 400 bw is on the demand list from ebay
(worldwide) - so you have to find a real
freak who is desperately seeking special this emulsion. ........this is obviously not your day today but this was my expertise.
with regards
