You never know when you'll need to short cut a loaded film cassette or two and need somewhere safe to carry loose, cut off film around in.

It'll even hold pairs of linked cassettes, IIRC, when the need pops up.

The cassette cans are more wanted/needed, for protecting loaded rolls, that are sometimes cut short and swapped out.
