I see that a company called "fotoimpex" lists Ilford films in 70mm, as well as 8" x 50'. They call 8 inch wide film Miniature Film for some reason. The "ULF tells me it is ordered once a year through Ilford's special custom program.

Any folks here have experience with these films and the so-called ULF program? 70MM is rather rare as many of you know.

Hello Bob: I ordered 70mm film from Harmon/Ilford the last couple of years that was unperforated to use in my cameras that used 116/616 film. It came in 50 foot long rolls and cost about $180.00 Cdn. and it was only available in HP5+. This year,it is only available perforated.

Just FYI this is not just any old company. You can trust them. Fotoimpex is closely associated with ADOX and is one of the major mail order places in Europe (they also have a stored in Berlin).

Here is the info about The Harman/Ilford specialty (ULF) program this year: https://www.ilfordphoto.com/ulf-custom-specialist-film-manufacture-2021
It looks like there are ten US retailers participating this year - none in Utah though.
B&H stocks 50 foot 70mm double perforated HP5, I bought a roll. Makes zero sense unless you want to re-create the (FAKED) moon landing

It's especially fun trying to juggle it onto an enormous Nikor reel.

Neil Armstrong used a disposable camera (Hasselblad), Neil Armstrong didn't have to process his own film!

Of course the real clue to the (FAKE) moon pictures was it was shot inside on TUNGSTEN Ektachrome

I bought fifty feet of 70mm HP5+ type II perfed last year, when B&H was closing it out.

Honestly I have an A70 loaded with Hp5+ but I also have Rollei 400s, some 1982 vintage Plus-X, and Kodak WL Surveillance film loaded into A70's. I'm starting to shoot 24 shot lengths although I also have the biggie 70mm Kindermann daylight tank.

There isn't any cost savings with 70mm but I could care less. Just glad it is available!

Hmmm They have it in stock again!!

B&H offers 6 month financing , $229 USD for 50 feet, no spool, no core, just film in a black bag in a white box. And YES, I'm thankful Ilford still makes this available!!!

Thanks Ilford.

I think NASA bought a gross of $2500.00 filters.

Regardless, I am glad to know there are options for most film I need. Not all, but most.

Take heart. You can order your ULF film from Blue Moon in Portland or Freestyle in LA and I see there's a participating seller in Scottsdale. Not a million miles away as the (Fedex) crow flies....

I can't resist playing around with 70mm. I bought 3 or 4 rolls (4.6 meter cassettes) of 1997 expiration date Kodak VPS III. I shot a test roll to go through the steps of processing. I have a Nikor loader, reel and tank . I loaded the reel no trouble. The film is horribly age/heat fogged. Came from Israel, I bought it for the nice new cassette, which can be loaded with fresh HP5.
I THINK I'M CRAZY. Fun though! Tank with 2 liters of C-41 developer right before lights out!
