Curt, I picked up a 70mm Hassie back and a 100 foot roll of FP4 came with it - or maybe it was the other way round. I haven't gotten around to trying it as I have to cut down a 70mm SS reel I have to fit a SS tank I have. I also have a Beattie-Coleman Transet back for 4x5 that takes 64x92 images on 70mm with no perfs required. Maybe next year!

Forgot about that one. There's a can of Portra in the freezer, too. Looks like Maco has the DP in Rollei Ortho 25. I like Ortho once you get it tamed. Maybe if the dollar ever gets stronger against the Euro....

Hasselblad A70 backs require double perforated film. The Porta's on ebay aren't.

Terry

Sometimes they are. I'm pretty sure one of the ones I bought on there is perf'd, I'll have to check next time I'm digging in the freezer. For the record I believe the perf'd spec is SP481, while SP480 and SP473 are non-perf.

There is some Porta 160 on e-bay for the next six minutes. Seller: Ultrafineonline. You might check out their website as well.

After reading this I contacted Agfa as to to how to buy 70mm film (we have a pair of Rollei 6003's at the office, with 70mm backs, that we use for Natural Resource aerial photography). Agfa does make a lot of 70mm film, but it is expensive. In the U.S., it goes for $161.43/roll with a minimum order of 48 rolls (one case). A roll is 70mm wide and 100 feet long. Lead-time for the order is 74 days. Probably not practical for the hobbyist.

70mm film ( unperforated ) is fundamentaly used as Aerial film, usually on polyester base and used mostly in relation to aerial survey, not military applications ( now almost exclusively digital ).
