I have the Fuji GW 670 II and the GSW 690 III. I absolutely love the lenses on them. But for travel, the Mamiya 7 is a better choice because it is lighter and much more compact.
For the normal (90 mm) lens I prefer 6x7 and for the wide angle (65mm) I like the 6x9, which gives a wider feel to the image than does the 6x7. As far as aspect ratio... the image is more important and I don't worry about how it fits on a piece of paper.

So I'll get an even border all the way round using 6x7? It's such a hard decision what to choose, but I'm glad I've incessantly asked questions here before going and buying a camera. Spending all that money on big sheets of FB paper I don't really want to go cutting pieces off. That seems a bad excuse I suppose really seeing as different proportions all have their own aesthetic. A "perfect" ratio to maximise the amount of the paper printed on sounds good though, so perhaps I'm better off looking for a 6x7 which are more readily availaible. I'm truly set on buying a Bronica 645rf. Does the 6x4.5negative result in a perfect print on 12x16" which is the size of prints I'm going to be primarialy making? yes right? My mind switches every 5 minutes between what to get. As usual, thanks for your time and patience replying.

Theres a RB67 pro S with 6x8cm motorised back included on eBay for £410, which the seller apparently says is rare. Is this the only mamiya that accomodates a 6x8 back?. The technical spec of the RB67 Pro SD doesn't mention anything about it. This would be a nice compromise between 6x7 and 6x9 and I could crop the other 6x7 back down to 6x6 if I wanted a square image.

12X20 is a differnt ratio than a 12X16 which is closer to 35mm and 6X9. 6.45 should be very close to a 12X16. 6X7 for 16X20 and 8X10. A few internet supplies have some 12X16 here in the U.S for the most part 5X7, 8X10, 11X14, 16X20, and 20X24. If you print differnt sizes no one format is "perfect".

Don't forget that nowadays more and more people tend to print on inkjet paper. The normalized A4 (210x297mm) or A3 (297x420) sized paper has an aspect ratio (1.41) which is pretty close to 6x9 negatives, so please stop repeating this marketing bullshit about 6x7 being the "ideal" format. 6x9 is much more pleasant for a lot of applications.
