I have gotten my 1936 Bessa RF back after a CLA and am ready to amaze/amuse the world with it:tongue:. At the moment, all color prints are developed by the local camera shop(part of that being they are the only place locally set up to do this), but they are easy to work with. I just need to know what to say to them when I bring in my negatives. At this point,I just have them make 4x6 prints.
Brings me to the question- Would I or should I ask for a different size on these prints since they are medium format? The second question on my mind is concerning doing my own B&W prints. Just had a Beseler enlarger given to me,needing only a lense. Are there 6x9 negative holders available?
I am enrolled in a B&W film class at the university, but we are concentrating on using 35mm with 50mm lens. The instructor and class is a GREAT help on learning the basics of photography for someone who at 58 yrs. old just took to the hobby. In the darkroom I have access to 6x6 negative holders which I will use with my Zeiss Ikonta 521/16.
I have been surfing thru this site and others and it seems to me that the 6x9 size (format?) is a bit old fashion since it seems most posts are about 6x7 or 6x4.5. But I could be wrong on this- all comments are welcome to correct me on this. Thanks for the help.

6x9 is the same dimension as 24mmx36mm which is 35mm film.

You don't say what model enlarger you will be using but I would think
there are plenty of holders to be found. If it is a 4x5 model, find a
4x5 glass carrier to ensure the negs stay flat.

You will probably need a 90mm to 105mm lens for the enlarger.

good luck.

6x9 carriers are a stock item for Beseler. Or at least used to be.

Various modern 6x9 cameras. Many made by Fuji.

I occsionally shoot Mamiya Press Universal with a 6x9cm back. It is a cheap but very solid and pretty nice camera. For printing I use a 105mm Nikkor lens on my Fuji 6x9cm enlarger, but a 90mm Fujinon lens can also cover the same image circle I just found. But 105mm is the standard choice for that format.
