Anyone know of a US source for 6x7 slide mounts? Neither B&H nor Adorama carry them. Adorama says Gepe 6x7 mounts are discontinued. Google isn't turning up any sources either. Gepe apparently sells them in Europe. Ebay has some cheapies from Korea. Not sure how those are.

???

They turn up used from time to time. They were more commonly available from AV suppliers than photo houses back in the day. A few of those
outfits are still around in major cities, though they've obviously moved on to digital. Maybe some inventory is still on the shelves somewhere.
Search under projection equipment and supplies. And you need to specify whether you want them with anitnewton glass or not.

It has been a few years since I ordered from them, but BCA Manufacturing in New York still had Wess mounts available when I did. See http://www.wessmounts.net (I notice that their web site is up and unchanged since I last ordered - which seems promising). They (hopefully still) provide 6x7 folding plastic mounts inside an 8.5x8.5 square frame, with or without AN glass, and with or without pin-registration. The quality is excellent - the mounts are nice and sturdy, will never open on you accidentally and yet clip closed easily. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

The problem with that BCA site is that without an old Wess-catalogue at hand some product description remains enigmatic.

But still much better than no Wess slides at all...

The Gepe homepage list it as in production:
http://gepe.com/website/index.asp?pageID=268

And here in Germany they are available:
http://www.nordfoto.de/Analoge-Fotografie/Verbrauchsmaterial/Archivierung/Diarahmen:::1_2_45_56.html

Foto Brenner, www.fotobrenner.de , can probably order them for you as well.
Maybe Fotoimpex, too.

And there is a second manufacturer in Germany, Kunze Archivtechnik:
http://www.dia-archive.de/Pages/Produkte/diawechselrahmen.html

Probably they can ship their (very good) slide mounts to you.
Or you order via Foto Brenner.

Best regards,
Henning

Hello Hatchetman, from the middle of the state!

I'd not be too concerned about ordering stuff from Europe. I've ordered stuff direct from Germany as well as from the UK, and while shipping costs were a bit more and took a bit longer to get here, I did receive what I ordered in good condition in a reasonable amount of time. So if you can't find it locally or in the US, I'd not be afraid to order it from Europe.

I see you are in Chicago - did you check out Central Camera in the Loop? Seems they carry quite a bit of the classic stuff. Can't hurt to call them and ask!

I got a couple boxes on eBay but always looking for more. I will check at Central. I go in there once/month or so. I just got a Kodak Medalist and I already have a lantern projector so I may be looking for 6x9 slide mounts now. LOL.

Hello,

just as an addition, I forgot in my post:
From next year on Jensen, who is already producing 6x8 and 6x9 slide mounts and a multi-format slide projector for slides up to 6x9 (!), will offer also 6x7 slide mounts:
