6X17 for odd uses, street

i am buying a gx617 with the standard lens. any tips to use this for unconventional uses? is it any good wide open without the centre filter, putting one or both edges of the frame in the dark to compensate for the falloff. i just intend to use this for architectural, city panoramics and down right wierd subjects. anything but macro tbh. cost is a bugger, however cheaper than large format.

one thing about these is an object in the centre really is undermined by the space either side, and the composition is weaker in most cases. i find things too big for the frame vertically to be interesting when in landscape.
